Catherine O’Hara and Seth Rogen Unleash Laughs on Hollywood in Witty New ‘The Studio’ Teaser

Seth Rogen and Catherine O’Hara inaugurated awards season with a preview of their forthcoming series, The Studio.

Prior to the pair presenting the award for best performance by an actress in a limited series or television film at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 5, the fresh teaser for their upcoming AppleTV+ series was unveiled.

In the new footage, Rogen’s character — recently appointed Hollywood studio executive Matt Remick — attends the Golden Globes alongside his predecessor Amy, portrayed by Catherine O’Hara.

During the event, Matt and Amy jest about the red carpet and the multitude of unfamiliar faces.

“Who are all these individuals? I don’t recognize any of them,” Matt queries the former Continental Studios executive. She responds humorously, suggesting they are influencers. “Most of them don’t even enter the venue. They just create their red carpet TikToks and depart,” she clarifies, striking a quirky pose for a flashing camera.

Feeling discontent, he replies, “What the hell is happening to this city? I recall when the red carpet for the Golden Globes actually meant something.”

“Yes, but if you don’t get these phone-wielding kids to concentrate on something for more than 15 seconds, all of this is going to the way of DEI departments,” she retorts. As the clip concludes and before the title card of the show surfaces, Matt is heard commenting, “Oh, that would be regrettable.”

The anticipated series will chronicle Rogen’s character and “his core team of bickering executives grappling with their own insecurities while managing egotistical artists and greedy corporate overlords in the constant quest of producing great films,” according to the synopsis. “As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes cinema, it’s the role Matt has been striving for his entire life, and it could ultimately ruin him.”

Rogen disclosed that he and his co-creator, Evan Goldberg, drew inspiration from their own journeys in Hollywood. “Almost everything is inspired, whether directly from something that occurred or by emotions we’ve experienced or apprehensions regarding things we hope don’t transpire,” Rogen shared with Vanity Fair last month.

“Much of it was either relayed to us by others or events that we’ve encountered ourselves,” remarked the Freak and Geeks star, who also co-wrote, directed, and executive-produced the show alongside Goldberg.

Rogen and O’Hara will be accompanied in Apple TV+’s new 10-episode sitcom by Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders. The series will also showcase guest appearances from Martin Scorsese, Bryan Cranston, Anthony Mackie, Adam Scott, Zack Snyder, Zoë Kravitz, Charlize Theron, Ice Cube, and Olivia Wilde, as reported by Vanity Fair.

The Studio debut on Wednesday, March 26, on Apple TV+.
