CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) revealed the quarterback Simon Romfo as one among 54 individuals chosen for the 27th Annual Academic All-Star Team on Tuesday.
Fifty-four individuals achieved a position on the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team. Football players from all FCS schools are eligible for this honor. Each nominee was mandated to have a minimum grade point average of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale) in undergraduate or graduate studies and must have served as a starter or significant player with valid athletic credentials. They must have completed their second year of academic and athletic eligibility at their nominated institution and have finished at least one complete academic year at the designated school. Additionally, nominees were required to have participated in at least half of the games played at their assigned position.
By being selected for the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team, Romfo became the ninth North Dakota student-athlete in the institution’s history to receive this recognition. Beyond the field, Romfo also excels with 100.0 hours dedicated to community service at UND. He enjoys participating in UND’s Holiday Magic from Markus and volunteering for the Special Olympics.
He excels academically as well, maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.93 while majoring in finance. Recently, Romfo was named a First Team member of the 2024 MVFC All-Academic Team. Following his graduation with a bachelor’s degree in finance, he intends to return to farming.
