Submit your work for a chance to win €10,000 in cash awards, opportunities to display at global photography festivals, and more.

The 13th edition of the PhMuseum Photography Grant is now open for submissions. Beginning today, you can submit your projects to the open call that offers €10,000 in cash awards to assist photographers and acknowledge the significance of visual storytelling. In addition to the financial prizes, your work will be evaluated for multiple opportunities to exhibit, create works, obtain feedback, and gain exposure.

Three selected applicants will receive solo exhibitions of their work due to our partnership with prestigious photography institutions. For the seventh consecutive year, the team from PhEST (Monopoli, Italy) will choose a project for display during the 10th edition of the festival in September 2025. Similarly, for the sixth consecutive year, another project will be featured at Getxophoto (Getxo, Spain), selected by head curator Maria Ptqk for the primary program of the Basque festival 2025 edition. In addition to producing the exhibition, the winner will be awarded an artist fee of €400 along with accommodations for 2 nights during the Opening Week. Furthermore, a third artist will be showcased at PhMuseum Lab (Bologna, Italy) in January 2026 during ArteFiera, the oldest art fair in Italy, whose agenda includes over 80 exhibitions throughout the city. The prize encompasses production costs as well as travel and accommodation.

Shortlisted projects (up to 40) will be featured at Fotofestiwal (Poland), Kranj Foto Fest (Slovenia) and other festivals yet to be announced. Additionally, Krzysztof Candrowicz from Fotofestiwal will select an artist whose work will receive a special highlighted screening during Fotofestiwal 2025 Night Of Photography. The artist will be invited to give a talk at the festival taking place in Łódź, Poland in June 2025. All submissions will also be considered for publication in the inaugural edition of PhMuseum’s printed annual magazine, which is scheduled to launch in Autumn 2025. Plus, six candidates will be awarded a complimentary portfolio review with a mentor of their choice from PhMuseum Education.

To participate, you are invited to submit one or more projects containing between 5 and 20 images. The theme is flexible and all photographic styles are welcomed. All entries will undergo review by an independent judging panel consisting of Aaron Schuman (Photographer, Writer and Lecturer), Sheida Soleimani (Artist and Educator), Bruno Ceschel (Founder Self Publish, Be Happy), and Kim Jeong Eun (Publisher and Curator). The evaluation will take place in March, with the shortlist announced in early April.

Over the years, the PhMuseum Photography Grant has evolved into a prestigious photography award, honoring photographers such as Max Pinckers, Poulomi Basu, Jacob Aue Sobol, Diana Markosian, Alejandro Cartagena, Bieke Depoorter, Camille Lévêque, and Tomas van Houtryve, among many others. We eagerly anticipate continuing this legacy and uncovering new talents.

The submission deadline is set for 13 February, with a reduced entry fee available until 23 January. Discover more and apply at phmuseum.com/g25
