The longlist for the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards has just been revealed, and we are thrilled to see a range of Film London alumni featured.

Several alumni are included in the Outstanding Debut for a British Writer, Director or Producer category for the films Bring Them Down, Grand Theft Hamlet, Hoard, Kneecap, and Santosh.. Directors Sam Crane and Pinny Grylls of Grand Theft Hamlet participated in Film London’s Production Finance Market New Talent Strand in 2023. We provided support for Bring Them Down‘s Chris Andrew’s short Fire through London Calling in 2015. We also backed the producer of Hoard, Helen Simmons, on her short Measure (as writer/director). Additionally, we supported Kneecap‘s producer Jack Darling’s 2010 short The Assessment, featuring a young Joe Cole. Furthermore, we collaborated with the Santosh team via London Calling + to produce the award-winning The Field in 2017.

Presently, we are engaged with producer Bernardo Angelleti on a short, who is nominated for British Short Animation for Adiós.

We aided Matty Crawford through the Early Development Fund and Creative Partnerships Day, and his film Stomach Bug is nominated for British Short Film.

The EE BAFTA Film Awards shortlist will be disclosed on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, via BAFTA’s YouTube channel.
