New supplier-specific accreditation acknowledges IGT for maintaining the highest standards of responsible gaming in iLottery operations

LONDON, Jan. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — International Game Technology PLC (“IGT”) (NYSE: IGT) has announced that it is the inaugural gaming industry supplier to obtain the Internet Compliance Assessment Program (“iCAP”) Ready accreditation for its iLottery services from the National Council on Problem Gambling (“NCPG”).

Developed from the original iCAP framework for gaming operators, iCAP Ready is a U.S. accreditation initiative aimed at gaming suppliers dedicated to upholding responsible gaming principles throughout their offerings. Supported by the NCPG, iCAP Ready employs best practices derived from the Internet Responsible Gambling Standards to guarantee that suppliers adopt and uphold responsible gambling guidelines, deliver effective employee training, and provide extensive player assistance resources.

“We commend IGT for pioneering the way as the first recipient of the iCAP Ready accreditation,” stated Keith Whyte, Executive Director of the National Council on Problem Gambling. “This milestone signifies IGT’s leadership, illustrating that suppliers are vital in ensuring player protections and fostering responsible gaming.”

“Achieving the iCAP Ready certification as the first supplier in the gaming sector for our iLottery service underscores IGT’s thorough responsible gaming processes and practices implemented across the company, along with our commitment to safeguarding our employees, clients, and players globally,” asserted Wendy Montgomery, IGT SVP Marketing, Communications and Sustainability. “With Advancing Responsibility as a fundamental component of IGT’s Sustainable Play initiative, we seek to fulfill and surpass responsible gaming benchmarks as a reliable supplier, ensuring our clients have the essential tools to keep their players secure and encourage positive gaming.”

To earn the iCAP Ready accreditation, IGT’s responsible gaming policies and methodologies were evaluated by an independent organization. A comprehensive compliance review was also carried out by a third party on behalf of NCPG to ascertain that IGT’s responsible gaming framework aligned with iCAP Ready’s goal of consumer protection and fostering safer gambling practices for players, starting with the supplier.
