COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland women’s lacrosse leader Cathy Reese revealed the team’s 2025 itinerary on Wednesday.
“We are thrilled to start this season,” stated Reese. “We had an excellent fall together with a lot of fresh talent and are eager to present it this spring. Our supporters will undoubtedly enjoy watching this lineup compete against a really strong schedule.”
More than half of Maryland’s 16 adversaries on the schedule concluded last season in the top 25 of the IWLCA rankings, featuring three of the four teams that reached the Final Four, notably the reigning national champions Northwestern, Penn, and Michigan. The Terps will also have the opportunity to face Syracuse and Virginia, who were positioned in the top ten of the final rankings of the previous season.
Maryland will kick off the season at home against Syracuse on February 15. Last season, Maryland triumphed over the Orange in an overtime thriller during a top-10 showdown.
The Terps will remain at home for two weeks to compete against Georgetown, Saint Joseph’s, and Denver. This will mark the first occasion Reese contests against her former assistant coach and Terp alum, Caitlyn Phipps. Phipps took on the head coach role for Georgetown this past fall.
A week later, Maryland will be on the road for a match against James Madison in Harrisonburg on March 1, before clashing with Penn State in Happy Valley on March 13.
The Terps will then remain home to play against Michigan at The Plex on March 16. Last season, the Terps and Wolverines contended in a nail-biting game in Ann Arbor, with then-No. 1 Maryland securing an 8-6 win over then-No. 2 Michigan.
The Terps will head to Evanston for a challenge against Northwestern on March 22. Subsequently, Maryland will make their way back to College Park to confront a new Big Ten foe, Oregon, on March 27, followed by a contest at Penn on March 31.
The squad will then embark on their longest journey of the season out west to take on Arizona State on April 3 before facing another fresh opponent in the conference, USC, on April 5. After returning to the East Coast, Maryland will match up against UVA at Notre Dame Prep on April 9.
The Terps will return to The Plex for a game against Ohio State on April 13, followed by their last road game of the regular season against Rutgers on April 16.
Big Ten competition concludes with Maryland taking on Johns Hopkins at home on April 19.
Details regarding game times and TV broadcast will be disclosed at a future date. All game dates may be adjusted for television.
