“Thursday Night Showdown: Hoops, Hits, and Waves”

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – Basketball, volleyball, and swimming were all scheduled for Thursday night.

In the city, IHC faced off against South Jeff in a girl’s Frontier League contest.

In the 3rd quarter, Brooke Perry lines up and sinks a 3-pointer. South Jeff leads by 9.

Going the other way, Emily Harder scores down low, narrowing the South Jeff lead to 7.

Perry drains another three from the top of the key, extending the Spartans’ lead to 10.

Clara Staie then scores from beyond the arc, putting South Jeff up by 12.

The Spartans triumph over IHC 51-39.

At Case Middle School, another girl’s Frontier League encounter unfolds. Watertown is welcoming Lowville.

Following a steal, Alyssa Millard makes a layup, bringing Lowville within 2.

Then, it’s Millard with a jumper from the baseline, leveling the score.

Kate Heins gets a favorable bounce on a low jumper, giving Lowville a 2-point advantage.

Millard hits a floater in the paint, giving the Red Raiders a 4-point lead.

Sam Booth banks in 2 off the glass for Watertown.

Lowville emerges victorious over Watertown 41-36.

NAC girls basketball sees Potsdam hosting Gouverneur.

Jasmine McKnight drives to the basket and scores. 2-0 for Potsdam.

Cathryn Todd maneuvers past the defense and doubles the Potsdam lead.

Raegan Devlin connects on a three-pointer, putting the Wildcats ahead 6-4.

Ashlyn Besaw weaves through the middle and scores.

Potsdam lands a perimeter shot to Meredith Fiske for a long-range attempt.

Renisa Richards hits a three, leveling the score at 20-20.

Todd launches a desperation three-pointer as the halftime buzzer sounds, swishing it for a 25-24 Potsdam lead at the break.

Richards curls in for a score.

Besaw adds another two points.

Gouverneur manages to hold on and defeat Potsdam 53-48.

NAC boys swimming features Gouverneur at Canton.

For the Wildcats, Chase Tuttle triumphed in the 200-yard freestyle and the demanding 500-yard freestyle against Canton’s Dallin Simpson.

Wyatt Slate took the win in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke.

Carter Lumley secured first in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle races.

Additionally, Robert Kulp claimed first in the 100-yard backstroke.

For Canton, Jackson Binan clinched victory in the 100-yard butterfly.

Gouverneur won all three relay events.

Gouverneur defeats Canton 88-45.

During girls Frontier League volleyball at Watertown High, the Cyclones entertained Sandy Creek.

It was a challenging evening for the home side, as Sandy Creek swept the Cyclones in 3 sets with scores of 25-23, 25-23, and 25-15.
