The Lead: Confronted with a refreshed roster yet the same high aspirations, North Carolina’s women’s tennis squad will sport a new appearance in 2025 following the graduation of 1,008 singles and doubles victories after the 2024 season. The sixth-ranked Tar Heels will confront a first-time adversary in James Madison and a familiar rival in Campbell in their initial face-offs of the season.

• Brian Kalbas begins this season boasting 770 career triumphs.

  • Kalbas holds the third-most wins in history and is the active leader in the country.

• Reese Brantmeier is poised to make her return this season. 

  • She was sidelined for a significant part of the 2024 season due to an injury.

• Carson Tanguilig is merely five victories away from achieving triple digits in singles and eight wins shy of a 100-win career in doubles.
• Carolina is excited to introduce five newcomers to their 2025 lineup.
• Following a lengthy absence during the 2024 season due to injury, Reese Brantmeier is ready to return to the court this season.

  • Brantmeier participated in No. 1 singles in the 2023 national championship match against NC State.
  • She accomplished a sweep at the 2023 ITA Fall Singles & Doubles Championships before her early 2024 injury.
