Wishing you all a Happy 2025! May this year bring you an abundance of incredible experiences, delightful moments with family and friends, and plenty of time spent in nature with your camera. The collage showcased above features some of my cherished images from the year. As I revisited my portfolio from the past year, it was challenging to pick just eight images, yet my heart guided me to those that symbolize moments of joy and awe in nature. These instances are what render my photography significant.
The upcoming year will bring forth numerous thrilling learning experiences. One of which is the Out of Chicago LIVE! Online Photography Conference, approaching quickly. It’s hard to fathom that we are entering our 6th year of hosting LIVE! Each year keeps improving and elevating!
The Out of Chicago LIVE! 2025 event is scheduled for February 7th – 9th. This immersive 3-day conference offers the chance to learn, engage in discussions, and receive feedback from some of the leading creative photographers in their respective fields. With over 100 sessions available across various genres—including nature, landscape, travel, street, architecture, wildlife, and post-processing—there are numerous opportunities to engage deeply and enhance your photography skills. All sessions are conducted live, and you’ll have a year-long access to the recordings after the event concludes. This week, a session guide will be made available on the Out of Chicago website, enabling participants to peruse the diverse offerings of conference sessions and meet our incredible lineup of instructors, alongside discovering the extensive selection of 100+ sessions available.
Be sure to join our complimentary Photo Challenges every Tuesday at noon CT leading up to the conference. Flower photographer Sue Bishop recently hosted an amazing Photo Challenge showcasing the Orton Effect on January 7th. The recording is available on the Out of Chicago blog. We have scheduled sessions with Kai Hornung, Huibo Hui, Karen Waller, and Alan Shapiro soon! Make sure to subscribe for updates on our website or follow our Instagram page @outofchicago to receive notifications for registering for the Photo Challenges.
