Mohegan Sun Elevates Doug Vogelei to Vice President of Gaming

UNCASVILLE, Conn., Jan. 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The premier integrated entertainment venue Mohegan Sun is excited to declare the appointment of Doug Vogelei as Vice President of Gaming. In this role, Vogelei will deliver strategic guidance, supervision, and alignment of gaming operations in partnership with Mohegan Sun’s gaming leadership team.

Vogelei steps into Mohegan Sun as an accomplished leader in the hospitality and gaming sectors, with over 30 years of strategic and operational experience. His most recent role was Senior Vice President of Casino Operations at Sycuan Casino Resort in El Cajon, CA from March 2020 to December 2024, where he oversaw financial and operational strategies across multiple gaming verticals. Vogelei has also held significant positions at Venetian Casino & Resorts in Las Vegas, NV, where he dedicated over 20 years of service.  Throughout his tenure at the Venetian, Vogelei rose through the ranks within the gaming division, eventually managing table games, slots, and poker. 

Doug Vogelei possesses a bachelor’s degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and is actively pursuing a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport. He has been a board member for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) San Diego Chapter.

Doug currently resides in Old Saybrook, CT with his spouse, Mary.
