Games Done Quick has accumulated over $54 million for charitable contributions during the past 15 years of its remarkable speedrunning journey.
The organization has just concluded its yearly Awesome Games Done Quick 2025 event, where it featured a runner who finished a Ratchet and Clank playthrough with a breathtaking Opera performance, two streamers who teamed up on a single controller to conquer The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, along with another who sped through Fallout: New Vegas.
As is customary for the event, AGDQ 2025 was yet another wildly enjoyable, continuous week of speedrunners having fun during streams and challenging themselves with some truly imaginative endeavors. The audience appreciated it enough to collectively donate over $2,556,305 to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. This elevates Games Done Quick’s overall charity total to more than $54 million raised, as noted by one viewer’s stat breakdown.
This year’s celebrations wrapped up with four streamers racing to complete Super Metroid with a map randomizer activated. You can watch the entire one-hour competition below, or jump to the conclusion to witness how incredibly excited the audience became when the stakes finally escalated.
The speedrunning antics are set to continue as well. The upcoming Summer Games Done Quick will commence for a week starting on July 6, aiming to raise funds for Doctors Without Borders, an organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to individuals caught in conflict zones, disaster areas, or epidemics worldwide.
“We appreciate everyone who contributed to this marathon’s realization, and to all of you for your incredible generosity & support,” tweeted the event earlier today. “Catch you all next time.”
A speedrunner of New Super Mario Bros. Wii received a standing ovation at AGDQ for performing the entire soundtrack on the piano while completing the game with controllers attached to his body.
