“Samsung’s Neo QLED and Lifestyle TVs Achieve Groundbreaking ‘EyeCare Circadian’ Certification!”

Certification encompasses evaluation of visual comfort and circadian rhythm synchronization

LONDON, U.K. – Jan. 13, 2025 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. revealed today that its Neo QLED and Lifestyle TVs have received EyeCare Circadian certification from Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker (VDE), a prominent electrical engineering certification organization in Germany. This recognition emphasizes Samsung’s dedication to creating technology that aligns with natural circadian rhythms, enhancing well-being and visual comfort.

The certification applies to key models across the Neo QLED and Lifestyle collections, including The Frame and The Serif. Six essential criteria are assessed to evaluate whether a product qualifies for certification: Eye Safety, Gentleness to the Eyes, Flicker Rate, Uniformity, Colour Fidelity, and Circadian Stimulus (CS) index — a structure designed to measure visual comfort and circadian rhythm synchronization.

At the core of Samsung’s accomplishment is EyeComfort Mode, which automatically modifies brightness and colour temperature contingent on the time of day and surrounding lighting conditions. By emulating natural light patterns, the mode alleviates strain during daytime usage and nurtures a restful environment at night, aligning with the body’s natural rhythms.

This certification adds to a range of accolades for Samsung TVs, showcasing their user-focused products and capabilities. The Neo QLED series has previously been awarded VDE’s Circadian Rhythm Display certification, while Samsung’s Lifestyle TVs obtained Glare-Free verification from Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for mitigating visual strain. Furthermore, for their remarkable colour accuracy, Samsung TVs are Pantone Validated.
