PITMAN — The New Jersey Athletic Conference has revealed its men’s swimming and diving weekly accolades for the week concluding Jan. 12.
 


SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
TEAGUE MAYER • United States Merchant Marine Academy
Junior • Boulder, CO/Boulder
 
Mayer is recognized as the NJAC Swimmer of the Week after showcasing his prowess in Merchant Marine’s dual meet triumph over Scranton, winning all three individual contests he participated in. Mayer initiated the 400 medley relay that secured first place with a time of 3:32.69, and achieved victories in the 200 butterfly (season-best 1:52.69) and the 200 backstroke. His times for the 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly stood among the finest in the NJAC this season. He also finished as the anchor for the exhibition 200 freestyle relay, which took first with a time of 1:28.11.

Weiss earns his fourth NJAC Diver of the Week title, adding to TCNJ’s fifth overall. He shattered his own institutional records in both the 1-meter 6 dives (393.67) and 11 dives (612.07). His score for 11 dives is presently the highest in NCAA Division III this season, with his six-dive score ranking seventh nationwide. Additionally, he set a new season-best in the 3-meter 6 dives (364.47), placing eighth nationally.

Hoban is acknowledged as NJAC Rookie of the Week after triumphing in three events during TCNJ’s dual meet against Franklin and Marshall. Hoban secured victory in the 100 freestyle (48.92), the 50 freestyle skins (21.82), and was the lead-off swimmer in the winning 8 x 50 freestyle relay (2:55.25). This represented the first occasion where Hoban achieved a hat-trick of victories in a dual meet.
