MASHANTUCKET, Conn. (WFSB) – If you are already pondering summer getaways and staycations – here’s something to include on your itinerary!
The much-awaited Great Wolf Lodge is set to open its latest venue at Foxwoods.
Here’s a sneak peek at what the Great Wolf Lodge indoor water park will resemble, where kids can enjoy themselves on a water slide.
Currently, there are no children present, but in approximately four months, this venue will be ready for family enjoyment.
A crew of 500 construction workers—are diligently working, creating a new attraction for Connecticut.
“We currently have 9 million sq. ft. of entertainment, including casinos, dining establishments, spas, and golf courses,” remarked Foxwoods President & CEO Jason Guyot.
Now, Foxwoods resort is venturing into something entirely new, a family-oriented resort!
The 23rd Great Wolf Lodge is expected to start welcoming families this summer.
“This introduces an entirely new dynamic,” emphasized Guyot. “Truly a game changer for us.”
A transformative aspect for the casino—
“This is the grand lobby,” pointed out General Manager of the Great Wolf Lodge, Henry T.
Yet, this is not a new experience for Henry.
“I was fortunate to launch number 12 in Massachusetts. In May, he’ll manage the company’s newest location.
It promises to be a comprehensive destination for family enjoyment.
“On the right side, we will have our sweet shop,” explained Henry. “That’s our ice cream shop.”
It’s still under development as you might have noticed. Once finished, there will be over 500 rooms, with an estimated cost exceeding $350 million, families who intend to visit will encounter new features the company is unveiling here in Mashantucket.
“Our ropes course is unique for this property because it includes three separate zip lines,” stated Henry.
LED lighting is also a new feature, which will enhance the daily lobby shows to energize their traditional water park layout along with two new slides.
“Water works is our largest attraction for children,” added Henry. “We have activity pools, a lazy river, and a pool located at the back of the park.”
The resort will generate 500 new jobs and elevate tourism in the area.
“We will attract guests from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York,” noted Guyot.
Jason Guyot—President and CEO of Foxwoods shared that he is particularly enthusiastic for Connecticut families to immerse themselves in all the fun.
“I can’t wait for the local community to experience this,” conveyed Guyot.
As evident, workers are actively engaged in completing this project. There is a wealth of fun offered here, but if what we’ve shared isn’t sufficient, there’s Wiley Wolf, one of five characters who will be making appearances throughout the resort for all the youngsters.
