PROVO, Utah — BYU swimming is set to host Denver for a Senior Day dual meet at the Richards Building Pool on Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. MST, while the Cougar divers will participate in the Cal Diving Invitational from Jan. 16-18 in Berkeley, California.

MEET FOE
The Denver men’s swimming team arrives with a perfect 4-0 record in dual contests, achieving victories against Air Force, Colorado Mesa, Colorado School of Mines, and Wyoming. Meanwhile, the Pioneer women stand at 3-2, having secured dual meet wins over Air Force, Colorado State, and Colorado School of Mines, while suffering defeats to Washington State and Wyoming.
LAST TIME OUT
The BYU men’s swimming team achieved its fourth dual meet victory of the season by defeating UC Santa Barbara 161-101 at the Richards Building Pool on Jan. 10. Darwin Anderson and Nathaniel Eliason paved the way for the Cougars with two first-place finishes each, while Max Kleinman, Tanner Nelson, and Jacob Ballard contributed three additional wins leading to a total of 161 team points.
Conversely, the BYU women experienced a setback against the Gauchos, losing 146-116. Nonetheless, Mackenzie Miller Lung continued to demonstrate her consistent superiority in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, finishing first and second, respectively. The Cougars’ promising young talent also shone, with freshmen Jasmine Anderson, Sarah Eliason, and Lucy Warnick each notching victories.
RANKINGS REVIEW
The Cougars will encounter 18 distinct nationally ranked divers at the Cal Diving Invitational, including five competitors from Hawaii. Chase Hindmarsh and Marti Llop represent BYU as two men’s divers holding top 50 scores nationally on 1 and 3-meter events. Hindmarsh has vaulted into the top 20 nationally for 1-meter scoring with a personal-best score of 346.65 at the Utah Dive Invite on Jan. 11.
Alexia Jackson Hansen is currently ranked 35th on the 3-meter and 24th on the platform. Jackson Hansen will compete against three top 25 platform divers from UCLA and Hawaii in Berkeley.
BYU men’s diving brings four divers ranked in the top 50 on platform to the competition, with Hindmarsh leading the pack at 16th based on a season-best score of 318.25.
