CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina women’s lacrosse has been ranked fourth in the yearly USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Women’s Preseason Top 20 Poll, as revealed by the organization prior to the 2025 season.

Led by Jenny Levy, who is marking her 30th year as head coach, the Tar Heels achieved a 10-7 outcome in 2024, securing their 25th overall – and 19th consecutive – NCAA Tournament appearance.

Players returning to the lineup after missing last season due to injury include Brooklyn Walker-Welch and Marissa White, who were positioned No. 4 and No. 30, respectively, in Inside Lacrosse’s 2025 Top 50 Players ranking. Joining them in the player rankings is No. 26 Ashley Humphrey, who received Honorable Mention All-America accolades last year.

The Tar Heels have also welcomed promising newcomers, rated as the No. 1 freshman class in the nation by Inside Lacrosse. Leading this first-year group are No. 1 Addison Pattillo, No. 3 Kate Levy, and No. Eliza Osburn.

Moreover, UNC has incorporated several transfers into its roster, including Julia Ford (Brown), Sarah Gresham (Virginia Tech), Nicole Humphrey (USC/UNC), Claudia Kelly (Coastal Carolina), Alice Riper (Exeter, UK), and Olivia Vergano (Virginia Tech).
