Trailblazers and Jackrabbits Clinch Weekly Glory in #SummitSD Awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – This week’s Summit League Swimming and Diving accolades were awarded to Denver and South Dakota State, as announced by League officials on Tuesday.
 
The recent weekly honors granted Denver diver, Zyad Morsy, an impressive league-record of 13 career weekly recognitions, while fellow DU diver Kaitlin Calvery received her fourth. Pioneer swimmer Frank Tirone earned his inaugural career peak performer accolade, whereas South Dakota State’s Gigi Hioki secured her second.

MEN’S PEAK SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Frank Tirone, Denver

Sr | Sprint Free | Oak Park, Ill.

• Achieved his first career weekly title of the season
• Aided the Pioneers in achieving a 181-117 dual victory over Wyoming
• Secured first in the men’s 50 free with a time of 20.74
• Took home the 100 free with a time of 46.18
• Participated in the 400 free relay that emerged victorious in 3:03.45
• Contributed to the 200 medley relay that finished second at 1:31.76

MEN’S PEAK DIVER OF THE WEEK
Zyad Morsy, Denver
Jr | Dive | Louisville, Ky.

• Achieved a league-record 13^th career weekly honor, sixth of the current season
• Claimed victory in the men’s 1-meter dive with an NCAA Zone Cut score of 368.33
• Finished second in the 3-meter dive with a score of 309.45

WOMEN’S PEAK SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

• Secured her second career weekly recognition, marking her second of the season
• Triumphed in two individual events and a relay crown against Augustana
• Took first in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.03
• Won the 500 free with a touch time of 5:10.44
• Participated in the winning 400 free relay that finished at 3:31.75

• Claimed second overall in the 3-meter with an NCAA Zone Cut score of 305.78
