Albanese Administration Unveils $10 Million Boost for Hobart’s Infrastructure Revamp

The Albanese Labor Government is shaping Australia’s future by committing over $10 million to enhance two vital pieces of community infrastructure in Hobart and its nearby areas.

More than $10 million has been designated for the South Brighton Development Precinct to facilitate the addition of up to 600 more residences.

The funds, channeled through the Housing Support Program, will be allocated to essential infrastructure which includes a new sewage pump, the improvement of local roads, and creating a shared pathway to connect the development with the Brighton Industrial Hub.

An extra $501,000 has been designated for the Upper Derwent Valley Precinct to assist in infrastructure planning aimed at enhancing connectivity among various towns.

Funding will aid in the development of precinct plans/concept designs, business strategies, and feasibility assessments for the communities of Maydena, Plenty, Hayes, Bushy Park, Glenora, Westerway, and Mount Field.

Support for the Upper Derwent Valley Precinct comes through the Albanese Government’s regional Precincts and Partnership Program, which allocates funding to revitalize regional, rural, and remote areas. For further details, visit: infrastructure.gov.au/regional.
