The Surgical Technologist (ST/CST) for the Midwest Internal Travel Team at Mayo Clinic will move among various Mayo Clinic locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin as dictated by patient care requirements. They are responsible for managing all instruments, scrubs, sutures, implants, etc. ST/CSTs also meticulously account for all tools and supplies before, during, and after procedures. Qualifications
Requirements for Surgical Techs:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech Program or military surgical technology course
- Minimum of 1 year of surgical tech experience required
- Willingness to travel across various Mayo Clinic locations throughout Minnesota & Wisconsin
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to adhere to both oral and written directions is necessary. Basic computer literacy required
- Experience in traveler or float pool preferred
- Must be in good standing regarding job performance
- Current Mayo Clinic employees must have held their role for a year prior to applying
License and Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs:
- American Heart Association (Title: BLS for Healthcare Providers or BLS Provider)
- Red Cross (Title: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers or BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required within one year of hire and must be maintained thereafter
Internal transfers to Rochester or Southeast Minnesota are required to have the Surgical Technology certification from NBSTSA
