Kissinger provides assistance at Phoenix Fitness and Massage in Pratt
Kyra Kissinger is a celebrated triathlete, a mother of three boys, and a fitness expert with a passion for aiding others. In November 2024, Kissinger (who hails from Wichita) assumed control of the Cliff Mock massage enterprise and transformed the 218 S. Main site to better accommodate customer desires for health and wellness. Her business is named Phoenix Fitness and Massage, where she offers services for sports rehabilitation, facial rejuvenation, lymphatic and facial relief, hot stone therapy, assisted stretching, parties, and corporate services.
“I’ve served as a lifestyle fitness coach for over 15 years,” Kissinger remarked. “My drive stems from the experience of nearly drowning as a child. I still deal with PTSD related to that. Later, I watched my young son almost drown in a hotel swimming pool, which prompted me to learn how to swim—never wanting to feel powerless again.”
Kissinger, holding a degree in engineering, utilizes a systematic and rational approach to setting objectives and making strides toward accomplishments. She refers to it as mindset.
“Once someone resolves to be healthier, get fit, or embark on a journey toward mental and physical wellness, I’m here to help,” she stated. “We engage in goal setting and mental wellness training designed to dismantle barriers, making these objectives achievable—be it losing weight, improving diet, or simply getting fit.”
When Kissinger left a corporate engineering position to homeschool her children, she quickly recognized the importance of a healthy mindset in achieving goals.
“Individuals often become overwhelmed by health and mental challenges, but we can break those down into manageable steps, consider calmly what we wish to accomplish, and then specify what is necessary to achieve that,” Kissinger commented. “At some point, we also have to rediscover how to enjoy ourselves.”
While Kissinger claims to now see herself as a body engineer, applying structured steps to reach goals as a massage therapist, strength trainer, nutrition coach, and more, she has also recognized the significance of enjoyment in being healthy. In her new establishment in Pratt, she is striving to cultivate a space where clients can relax and socialize, as well as connect with others.
“I genuinely believe that to enhance our self-worth, we must re-learn how to connect with each other following the COVID years,” she expressed. “It appears that, particularly men, often lack affection and positive reinforcement, both of which are vital for improving self-esteem and flourishing.”
On Friday, January 10, after a severe winter storm blanketed Pratt in snow and ice, Kissinger was seen outside her shop constructing a snowman in the afternoon sun, together with her dog Niki.
“I’m just trying to create something out of this snow that will bring smiles to people’s faces,” she said. “Somewhere along the way, we lost the ability to have fun and stay active. I aspire to motivate others to step outside and relish life once more.”
Kissinger mentioned that she is planning a 5K run in Pratt for people and their dogs (See Spot Run) in May and hopes to organize a children’s triathlon event in June 2025, all aimed at encouraging physical activity, fostering connections, and teaching the art of enjoyment again. Positive objectives for the new year, and throughout the year.
