FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason men’s and women’s swimming and diving squads are traveling to compete against Duquesne and Cleveland State, with diving events set to commence at 5 p.m. on Friday at Carnegie Mellon, and swimming events planned for 11 a.m. at Towers Pool in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The women’s squad will compete against both the Dukes and Vikings, whereas the men’s squad will face Cleveland State.
In their prior competition, both the Patriots’ women’s and men’s teams secured third place at the Patriot Invitational held from Nov. 21-23, 2024, at the Aquatic and Fitness Center.

ABOUT THE PATRIOTS
The George Mason men’s team consists of 19 returnees and five newcomers under the guidance of head coach Jamie Greenwood.
The Patriots’ men’s roster begins with one graduate student, three seniors, eight juniors, ten sophomores, and two freshmen.
Seniors returning for the Patriots include Tyler Lentine (Great Falls, Va.), Zane Roberts (Chesapeake, Va.), and Logan Skiles (Mechanicsburg, Va.)
Mason features eight juniors such as Aoun Al-Hiari (Alexandria, Va.), Tate Anderson (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.), Michael Bock (Apex, N.C.), Jack Chapman (Canandaigua, N.Y.), Max Fermayer (Weston, Fla.), Jett Lee (Centreville, Va.), Matt Quackenbush (Salt Lake City, Utah), and Sam Rivas (Richmond, Va.).
The Patriots also have eight sophomores returning: Christian Anderson (Fairfax, Va.), Alex Crown (Gainesville, Va.), Jack Graham (Williamsburg, Va.), Ian Jones (Fredericksburg, Va.), Colby Lane (Fairfax, Va.), Colin Murtaugh (Roanoke, Va.), Ian Rodgers (Newport News, Va.), and Cody Scifres (Colorado Springs, Col.)
Mason has added graduate student Kyle Johnson (Sterling, Va.), sophomores Anthony Garono (Crozet, Va.) and Ryan Serbia (Edmond, Okla.), along with freshmen Lucas Eminger (Milford, Ohio) and Gabriel Miller (Columbus, Ohio).

THE PATRIOTS SCHEDULE
The George Mason men’s and women’s swimming and diving squads will partake in six events during the 2024-25 season, with two events being held at home, including the annual Patriot Invitational at the Aquatic and Fitness Center.
The Patriots commenced the season at the Potomac Relay Invitational (Sept. 27), hosted by American University at the Reeves Aquatic Center in Washington, D.C.
George Mason faced Atlantic 10 Conference competitors for the first time at the Richmond Duals (Oct. 11-12), occurring at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Va. The George Mason men’s team competed against Davidson in a two-day dual, while the women’s team contended against Richmond and Duquesne in the same two-day event.
The Patriots’ men’s team was defeated by Navy (231-68), Louisiana State (239-60), and Loyola-Maryland (220-79), while the George Mason women’s team also lost to Navy (226-73), Louisiana State (247-52), and Loyola-Maryland (201-99) on Oct. 18 in Annapolis, Md.
George Mason hosted the annual Patriot Invitational (Nov. 21-23) at the Aquatic and Fitness Center. Both the men’s and women’s teams finished in third position in this event.
The Patriots are set to travel against Duquesne and Cleveland State (Jan. 17-18) in Pittsburgh, Pa., concluding the regular season with a home dual against Towson (Jan. 25).
The Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships are scheduled for Feb. 19-22 at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Va.

The Patriots will conclude the regular season by hosting Towson on Saturday, January 25, with the meet scheduled to start at noon at the Aquatic and Fitness Center.
