SUMMARY
Photography interns will gain the chance to understand the brand and vision of the Real Salt Lake organization and discover what it takes to be a creative in a professional sports setting (including but not restricted to general content creation, brainstorming projects, editing, and aligning with the brand). Throughout this internship, you will enhance essential skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, communication, and organization.
This internship entails a minimum obligation to work every home game at America First Field or Zions Bank Stadium. In-office hours will also be required during the workweek to capture content, edit images, and complete other assigned responsibilities. Please be aware that the RSL, Royals, and Real Monarchs seasons may extend through November.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Produces usable images for Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals FC, Real Monarchs, and Real Salt Lake Academy social media platforms
- Takes photos at RSL/Royals/Real Monarchs matches, training sessions, Community Relations events, etc.
- Suggests innovative methods to create content across social media channels
- Supports the marketing team with additional tasks during Real Salt Lake, Royals, and Real Monarchs matches
- Captures content for community, marketing events, and Special Olympics Unified Team
- Oversees methods for creating content across social media platforms
- Additional assignments as directed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for photography
- Proficient in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom)
- Studio experience preferred but not mandatory (including strobe lighting, on-camera flash, etc.)
- Ability to operate your camera in full manual mode (shutter speed, ISO, aperture, White Balance, etc.)
- Capability to adhere to instructions and learn from constructive feedback when provided
- Basic soccer knowledge is not essential, but highly recommended as interns will require a working understanding of the game to fulfill various responsibilities
- Must be able to follow directions and learn from constructive criticism when provided
- Willingness to pass a background check
- Availability for 20-30 hours weekly
- Portfolio submission for review required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The position necessitates regularly lifting/pushing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting/pushing more than 25 pounds or exerting significant effort, in a varied range of environmental conditions. The role involves standing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, typing, etc.
