Men’s Swimming and Diving Clinches Impressive League Victory Over Colgate!

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross men’s swimming and diving squad commenced the new year with a 154-134 triumph against Patriot League adversary Colgate on Friday afternoon at the Hart Center Pool.

This victory equalizes the Crusaders’ record to 2-2, with a 1-1 mark in league competitions, while the Raiders fall to 2-7, 0-5 PL.

The 400-yard medley relay team comprising junior Jack Greiner, junior Zach Bubonovich, junior Alex Michael, and freshman Peter Mottolese reached the finish first at 3:29.19, securing 11 points for the team early in the meet.

Mottolese secured his second first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.39), with senior Patrick Walsh (1:46.25) coming in second. Mottolese also achieved another first-place result in the 100-yard freestyle (47.98).

Sophomore Austin Cutcher topped the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:09.16) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:50.52). Bubonovich clinched first in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:12.20) and Michael in the 100-yard butterfly (52.35).

In the diving category, sophomore Luke Parada (269.93) and freshman Griffin Casey (267.15) took first and second place in the three-meter dive. Casey (294.75) and Parada (231.38) finished 1-2 on the one-meter boards.

Holy Cross is set to compete against Providence (0-4) at the Hart Center Pool on Saturday, Jan. 18 at noon.
