Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/18/25) The Dominican University New York women’s basketball squad triumphed over the Wildcats of Wilmington University this afternoon in conference play on Coach Baxter Court. 

The Lady Chargers, ranked #5 in the most recent D2CSC East Region Poll, have extended their winning streak to five consecutive games, improving their record to 14-4 and 6-0 in conference competition.

Dominican started the match strong with a 25-5 first quarter and maintained their momentum, concluding the game with an 81-53 win. Dominican recorded a shooting percentage of 44.8% from the field and 46.4% from three-point range. Dominican also went 16-21 at the free throw line while contributing 26 points from their bench and 20 points in the paint.

Leading the Lady Chargers were Tamia Nunes and Angelina DiMarsico, both finishing with 17 points. DiMarsico shot 5-7 from beyond the arc and secured six rebounds. Nunes achieved a career-high in points while also leading the team with 10 rebounds for a double-double. 

Tanasha Mills added 13 points, along with four assists and four steals, marking a team-high in steals.

Cloey Dopp contributed 13 points off the bench, while Isabella Javier provided a team-high five assists along with six points. 

The Wildcats were spearheaded by Aniyah Bond, who tallied a game-high 18 points. TyKeisha Hill contributed 13 points, and Jasmine McDuffie led the team with 11 rebounds. 

The Lady Chargers are set to return to the court on Wednesday evening, visiting the University of Bridgeport.
