Charleston International Airport is situated 12 miles from historic downtown Charleston & located near the junction of I-26 & I-526. Arrivals & departures occur on the same level; thus, passengers & those meeting them will find excellent accessibility throughout the airport. The primary airlines utilize ramped loading bridges to/from the aircraft. Some regional jets may necessitate boarding via stairs from the tarmac or using a lift-a-loft (check with your airline concerning their boarding procedures).

Charleston International Airport offers 48 hours (two days) of complimentary handicap parking to eligible parking patrons. Following two days, the standard rates for either the parking deck or surface parking will apply. To qualify for the two days of free handicap parking, provide a valid handicap placard & driver’s license, both of which must be issued by the same state, to the cashier when leaving. The licensed driver & individual depicted on the handicap vehicle must be in the car upon exit to qualify for the free parking.
