The National Citizen Service Trust, the sole dedicated public institution for youth, and a vital element of the Government’s National Youth Guarantee, is introducing a gaming-inspired project aimed at teaching young individuals how to budget, save, and request loans.

NCS provides a variety of experiences for young individuals that aid in developing their strengths and realizing their potential – through enhancing their confidence, engaging in social actions, forming friendships with diverse backgrounds, and acquiring skills to prepare them for the world and workforce.

The organization has collaborated with Krow-owned youth marketing agency Livity and immersive game studio Preloaded to develop the gaming experience “Neohaven Noodles”, a story-driven cooking game focused on good quality food and the challenges of debt.

Players are encouraged to launch their own noodle parlour in the futuristic town of Neohaven and attempt to endure the initial 10 days. Within the game, they prepare noodles, tackle challenges, and manage their finances, all while interacting with a variety of intriguing characters, each with their unique narratives.

Hosted on the NCS website, the game is crafted to be played multiple times so young people can acquire particular skills to enhance their financial literacy.

Chris Brown, director of service delivery at the National Citizen Service Trust, stated: “Through this evidence-based experience, we can enable young individuals to gain more insights about managing their finances in a setting that is comfortable for them. It has been a delight to collaborate with partners who are not only specialists in their domain but also embrace our youth-centered values.”

Alex Goat, CEO of Livity, remarked: “This initiative exemplifies our strong partnership with Preloaded. Integrating co-creation into game development allows us to ensure that our approach remains focused on the audience and authentic at every stage. We are extremely proud to contribute to this flagship project for and in collaboration with the NCS Trust.”
