Kyrie Irving Unveils the “Chief Hélà” Lifestyle Sneakers: Mark Your Calendars for January 22nd!

Kyrie Irving’s bond with his indigenous heritage is well-known, something he has delved into extensively both personally and publicly following a Standing Rock Sioux naming ceremony in 2018. Hélà (approximately translated as “Little Mountain”), the designation he was given at that event, has emerged as a common name in his ANTA collection, reappearing to further showcase his off-court lifestyle silhouette.

In addition to the personal significance, the sneaker here revisits one of the more enduring appearances of the ANTA KAI 1 in its unique “Chief Hélà” colorway, launched in October 2024. Similar to its on-court counterpart, traditional tassels derived from moccasin footwear encircle the collar, reflecting the rich brown hues enveloping the suede upper. Detachable beads are provided to inject some extra vibrancy and commemorative style to the shoe. And as observed in Kyrie’s collaboration with ANTA, geometric designs define even this lifestyle model, more subtly incorporated here through the insole.

Although this marks the inaugural occasion that Kyrie’s lifestyle sneaker has enjoyed the complete red carpet unveiling, it is important to note that it is not the first US launch for this model. That took place instead as part of the “11 Days” holiday project, which introduced a plethora of new color options to the public, including “Khaki,” “Mocha,” “Ivory,” “Totem,” and “Bone” variations of the model in question.
