It is a Masters gift almost as hard to find as a ticket: a non-stop flight to Augusta, Ga.

But perhaps that’s changing.

With a few months remaining until the commencement of the 2025 Masters, Delta Airlines has announced its most extensive service ever to Augusta Regional Airport for the tournament week. Delta, an Atlanta-based airline acting as one of the Masters’ “official partners,” will boost seating capacity to Augusta during golf’s initial major event by 15 percent in 2025, increasing the number of daily seats flying into the tournament to 1,900.

Masters attendees are all too familiar with the challenges of getting to Augusta. For many across the United States, the simplest way to access Augusta is to fly into Atlanta’s primary international airport, and then undertake a 2.5-hour drive into Augusta. Other more accessible options consist of Columbia, S.C., yet neither surpasses the ease of flying directly into Augusta, a small regional airport located just moments from the front entrance to the golf course.

“As Delta commemorates its Centennial year, we’re delighted to welcome Masters guests to our home state of Georgia for the prestigious Masters Tournament,” Joe Esposito, Delta’s SVP for network programming stated in a release revealing the enhanced service. “With new flights from Minneapolis and White Plains, along with increased frequency from LaGuardia, we’re making it simpler than ever to connect to this globally recognized event.”

Delta’s updated timetable will feature one direct flight daily from Minneapolis St. Paul, Detroit, and Boston; eight daily flights from Atlanta; two daily flights from New York-LaGuardia, and one flight each on tournament Wednesday, Friday, and Monday from Westchester, Washington D.C.-Reagan, Austin, and New York-Kennedy. According to the airline, the revamped schedule will place 215 destinations within one layover of a non-stop flight to Augusta.

This announcement marks the second occasion in the past two years in which Delta has broadened its service to Augusta for tournament week, a move that has been met with enthusiasm from the thousands of golf enthusiasts who travel to Augusta each April. Although the increased accessibility ultimately serves only about 20,000 attendees, significantly lower than the total number of visitors during tournament week, it greatly enhances the convenience for those aspiring to attend the event.

The 2025 Masters will take place at Augusta National Golf Club from April 9-13, 2025.
