SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Carli Quinlan, Simmons (Jr.)

Junior Carli Quinlan achieved two first-place finishes at the annual two-day Seven Sisters Invitational. Competing against institutions like Smith College, Wellesley College, and Mount Holyoke, Quinlan secured first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.51) and the 100-yard freestyle (54.84). Additionally, Quinlan earned two second-place finishes in the 50-yard fly (27.40) and the 50-yard free (25.67). Moreover, in a dual meet triumph over GNAC rivals Elms and Regis College, Quinlan obtained another two first-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle and the 50-yard butterfly.

DIVER OF THE WEEK

Reilly Laitala, Norwich (Jr.)

Junior Reilly Laitala was exceptional once again in diving events, leading the way in a pair of competitions at Plymouth State on Saturday. She initially recorded a score of 221.70 in 1-meter diving, over 20 points ahead of the second place. She then proceeded to 3-meter diving, achieving a final score of 221.92.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Chaelin Humphrey, Simmons (Fr.)

First-Year Chaelin Humphrey achieved a personal best time in the mile event, 1,650-yard freestyle, finishing sixth at the annual Seven Sisters Invitational with a clocking of 21:15.91. Furthermore, Humphrey recorded a leading collegiate time of 30.14 in the 50-yard butterfly and also swam 5:56.77 in the 500-yard freestyle.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Brandy Lewis, Norwich – Served as the driving force behind Norwich’s success in winning 13 out of 16 events at Plymouth State on Saturday, accumulating the highest number of individual victories with three. She first clocked 2:28.41 in the 200-yard IM, followed by 5:46.73 in the 500-yard freestyle. She secured her third individual triumph by finishing in 1:09.50 in the 100-yard IM. She concluded her day with a relay victory as the opening swimmer in the 200-yard freestyle relay, with the team finishing in 1:49.61.

Olivia Luhnau, Regis – Excelled in backstroke and individual medley events, taking top honors in the 100yd backstroke (1:09.16) and 100yd IM (1:04.26). She also clinched second place in the 100yd freestyle (1:00.16).

Tiffany Twombly, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) – Claimed three victories for the Monks in the 100 IM, 50 breaststroke, and 400 IM. She set the pool record in the 400 IM and also anchored the winning 200 Freestyle Relay team.
