Kate Bush followers from throughout the Riverina and past flocked to Wagga Wagga’s Wollundry Lagoon Precinct to be a part of Council’s second Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever on Sunday (20 July).

Around 100 Cathys and Heathcliffs  gathered on the garden exterior the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre to recreate Kate Bush’s landmark 1978 ‘Wuthering Heights’ dance and music video.

Led by native dance teacher Hayley Allen-Freeman, they joined with the hundreds of different folks participating in Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever occasions at areas world wide.

Council’s Community Development Officer Victoria Lowe was thrilled with the native turnout, which was greater than double the variety of dancers eventually yr’s inaugural ‘Wuther’ in Wagga Wagga.

“It was a wonderful way to mark the end of the 2025 FRESH intergenerational program,” Victoria Lowe stated.

“We had quite a range of ages participate, with a lot of them born well and truly after the song hit the charts, right up to people aged in their early 80s.

“And it wasn’t just locals. We had a participant travel from Wombat, near Young, as well as a group travel up from Albury and a Griffith contingent, and they all loved it.

“You could see from the smiles on everyone’s faces that they were having a lot of fun, being with friends and other like-minded people.

“The fact that the number of participants doubled this year shows that people want to make these sorts of connections as well.”
