Missouri S&T – Information and Occasions – S&T bringing high-tech, hands-on enjoyable to Missouri State Fair

Drones, robots, digital actuality and a world-champion Mars rover constructed by college students. Missouri University of Science and Technology will convey hands-on actions for fairgoers of all ages to the Missouri State Fair, Aug. 7-17 in Sedalia, Missouri.

The college’s giant exhibit house, open every day from 9 a.m. to five p.m. close to the Grandstand and throughout from the MO-AG Theatre, will characteristic free science demos, student-built engineering initiatives, and an opportunity to win a $1,000 S&T scholarship or a free STEM summer season camp for teenagers.

Something new each day

The college’s Kummer Center for STEM Education will present a “drone zone,” VEX robots, digital actuality and Sphero robotic balls for fairgoers of all ages to play with each day. The heart may also host a number of robotics workshops for kids ages 8-15 on varied days.

A STEM Mobile can be on website every day. The car brings hands-on academic actions to communities all through the state. Teachers can communicate with a consultant from the STEM heart about scheduling the van to come back to their faculty district.

Student design groups

Representatives from 4 of the college’s pupil design groups can be at S&T’s sales space on the next days:

• The Miner Motorcycle Design group on Thursday, Aug. 7
• The Baja SAE and Concrete Canoe groups with their creations – an offroad car and a canoe fabricated from concrete, on Thursday, Aug. 14, Friday, Aug. 15, and Saturday, Aug. 16
• The Mars Rover Design Team, 2025 world champions, with their successful rover, on Friday, Aug. 15, and Saturday, Aug. 16

Missouri S&T design groups are registered pupil organizations that function as 501(c) non-profit companies. The groups work like small start-up corporations, and produce collectively college students from totally different disciplines to work on large-scale initiatives for competitors. Fireworks sponsor
