When I began this venture, I didn’t know precisely what it might grow to be. I simply knew I needed to attach—with the individuals who dwell right here, with their tales, their work, their creativity. I used to be drawn to those that spend their days making issues, shaping the world round them, and giving their time to this island neighborhood.

At first, I photographed individuals of their workspaces—painters, musicians, lecturers, farmers. But as time handed, one thing deeper began to come back by way of. The venture shifted. It grew to become much less about documenting what individuals do, and extra about being current with who they’re.

Each portrait grew to become a quiet trade—not of something materials, however of vitality. A second of stillness between the particular person and the digital camera. An area the place one thing unstated might move between us.
