Eleven younger males had been offered July 12 throughout a Fayetteville fraternity’s beautillion.
Alpha Phi Alpha’s Epsilon Rho Lambda Chapter held its eighth annual beautillion, the theme of which was “Fantastic Voyage: The Journey from Beaus to Men,” at Fort Bragg’s Iron Mike Center, according to a news release from the fraternity.
The beautillion is the culminating event of the chapter’s mentoring program for high school seniors in Cumberland, Hoke and Harnett counties.
“The beautillion has become one of the most popular and highly anticipated programs in our area,” Jeffery Womble, chairman, stated within the launch. “It’s an event in which the brothers in the chapter take a great deal of pride, because they get to work with a great group of young men who want to become successful college students and productive citizens when they grow older. A lot of work goes into the planning, but it is all well worth it to see the transformation these young men make over the course of the program.”
Arrington Richardson, a current graduate of Massey Hill Classical High School, was named this yr’s Beau of the Year, the discharge stated. Arrington, the son of Vertis Richardson and Laquanda Gipson, will attend Fayetteville State Univeristy within the fall, the place he’ll main in music schooling.
