Jerry Feng of Springfield took dwelling high honors within the 2025 Cream of the Crop Photo contest, which encourages younger photographers to share their imaginative and prescient of agriculture in our state.

State Treasurer Michael Frerichs hosted a reception Aug. 8 within the Illinois Department of Agriculture’s tent on the Illinois State Fairgrounds to honor the first-place winners. Feng was acknowledged within the 8-10 age class, together with John G. of Stillman Valley within the 11-14 age class and Ryan L. of Villa Grove, in 15-18 age class.

The high photographers in every of the three age classes have been awarded Bright Start 529 school financial savings scholarships.

The Cream of the Crop photograph contest is a part of the Treasurer’s Ag Invest program, which is likely one of the nation’s largest agricultural linked deposit packages. Through Ag Invest, the Treasurer’s Office companions with eligible lenders to supply farmers and ag companies annual and long-term, low-interest loans which can be utilized for working prices, tools purchases, construction-related bills, and livestock purchases.
