Australia: two fireballs in a row close to Melbourne on August 10th

On August tenth, 2025, two very vibrant fireballs enlighted the sky of Melbourne area (Victoria, Australia) in lower than 80 minutes timespan! The first one, which occured at 09h 34min UT (19h 34min AEST*, event #4726-2025) lasted a number of seconds, and was essentially the most noticed and video recorded. Some folks witnessing the occasion (Figure 1) additionally reported listening to sonic booms shortly after they noticed the brilliant meteor. Such sounds signifies meteorites might have reached the bottom, as last altitude estimation of the meteor goes all the way down to 9 km! From calculations by the Desert Fireball Network (DFN) and the Global Meteor Network (GMN), strewn discipline could be positioned North-East of Maryborough (Victoria, Australia), 140 km North-East of Melbourne.

The second fireball was much less extensively documented and occured the next hour, round 10h 48min UT (20h 48min AEST*, event #4727-2025) above central Victoria (once more). From computerized calculations issued from visible observations, this meteor appeared to go offshore, and protential related meteorites should have landed on the seafloor of Bass Strait (Figure 2).

Denmark: sonic booms related to fireball sightings on August 5th night

It was 19h 17min UT (21h 17min CEST**) in Denmark, and the sky was not but absolutely darkish, on August fifth, 2025, when a very vibrant fireball crossed the sky and was reported by greater than 80 individuals (event #4628-2025, Figure 3). As the Sun was not far beneath the horizon, the vapor path was seen and deformed because of the excessive altitude winds, which was extensively photographed by witnesses (Figure 4). Some folks additionally reported having heard sonic booms, which signifies the fireball should have gone down into the bottom a part of the ambiance, main the likelihood that some meteorites might have reached the bottom…

Antarctic: a dramatic fireball over a desert space on August 13th

Most fireballs appaears unobserved, as most of them seem above deserts, oceans, and practically no-populated areas. But typically, a meteor seem above a very-low-populated space, and it’s noticed! That is what occurred on August thirteenth, round 11h UT (16h VOST***) above Vostok station, in… central Antarctica (lat. ~ 78° 27′ 51″ S ; lon. ~ 106° 50° 14″ E)! Just a couple of people, the scientists of the  Arctic and Antarctic Scientific Research Institute (AARI) had been in a position to observe the occasion and {photograph} the residual vapor path enlighted by the Sun (Figures 5.a- to f-), which was not very low beneath the horizon, throughout greater than half an hour.
