Agata Serge is inviting individuals to flip by her work.
The vogue photographer is releasing “Fashion Flip Book,” an interactive e-book that options her images, which every web page cut up into three horizontal items that rework into new compositions as viewers flip the pages.
“Fashion Flip Book was born out of a simple idea that stayed with me for years: to create something that was not just a collection of photographs, but a reflection on identity, individuality, and change,” Serge mentioned in a press release in regards to the e-book. “At its heart, this project is a meditation on the evolution of the model — from the 1990s image of the mute, interchangeable mannequin, to today’s models as storytellers, icons and cultural voices. I wanted to photograph each of them not only for how they look, but for who they are — to give space to their presence, their humanity and their individuality.”
Serge described the “flip format” — which creates new imagery by totally different mixtures of head, torso and leg parts — as “symbolic.”
“Fractured, reconstructed and reimagined identities that shift and transform depending on the gaze of the viewer,” Serge mentioned. “What has moved me most throughout this journey is how collaborative it became. What began as a solitary idea grew into a shared project filled with trust, belief and creative energy. It taught me that fashion photography, when anchored in a meaningful idea, can become much more than aesthetic.”
For Serge, the e-book challenge grew to become a dialog about notion. “In fashion especially, the gaze is never neutral; it is charged with context, culture and personal history,” she mentioned.
The e-book launch shall be accompanied by in-person exhibitions in New York, Warsaw and Paris. Each exhibition options life-size flip panels, digital installations with AI-generated visuals and a VR expertise.
