Kim Faulds began in gross sales when she was 14, promoting hair wraps on the New Jersey shore. Even then, her gross sales pitch proved to be fairly efficient.
“I guaranteed that if they fell loose, I would redo it for them,” Faulds says. “I was there all summer and got repeat business. … That was my kind of guerilla marketing, walking up to random people and selling them these little hair wrap things.”
Faulds will develop into CDC Gaming’s Head of Sales and Client Relationships on October 1, 2025. She takes over from Jim McGlasson, who’s transitioning to Advertising Support Manager on October 1, 2025 in a purely help function to Kim, earlier than full retirement on December 31, 2025.
From hair wraps to a stint promoting home windows in Massachusetts to greater than a decade working with Caesars Entertainment Corporation in Las Vegas, Faulds’ profession arc has been decidedly upward. When she first began with Caesar’s, Faulds admits she didn’t know all of the variations of gaming trade gross sales.
“I just threw myself into learning all of it, as much as I could, and probably drove people crazy around me because I asked a lot of questions,” she says.
Faulds took it upon herself to be taught each aspect of Caesars, from the entrance desk at lodge check-in to the corporate’s rewards program. Faulds joined a gross sales coaching program, Bright Spots, after she put collectively a pitch guide earlier than this system was even posted. After Faulds was employed, with two others she created gross sales coaching supplies that have been used firm broad.
“We were adapting what you would call sales to the casino industry for the first time, really on such a large scale,” Faulds says. “And that was really intriguing, because I got to be a support for people in the industry, VPs of casino marketing who had been there for 25 years. Not only was I helping them learn these new techniques and tracking systems and tools and things we had for them, but they were teaching me a lot more about the business and the customers and the clients, and also just managing people at that level in a team.”
“It was a really unique way of learning the business that I don’t think I could have expected when I applied for it and it began,” she provides.
In addition to her coaching at Caesars, Faulds has crafted her personal gross sales philosophy, learning Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy and Tony Robbins, “old-school guys,” to be taught the artwork of gross sales. What she realized was {that a} salesperson is profitable after they assist the shopper or the shopper get what they want and need.

“Someone may not even know what they need or know what they want or know what’s available,” she says. “It’s like the phrase, I don’t know what I don’t know. I think that’s often part of where salespeople may cause themselves a problem, or where salespeople create a barrier. They take a surface conversation and say okay, I’m selling this, and they’re hard set on this is the solution and now I have to figure out how this solution fits what you need, instead of the other way around. And I think if you really start to figure out what it is the client wants and whether it’s B-to-B or B-to-C, I can just figure out what I have that could work for them and take their business to the next level.”
Faulds can be a part of the CDC Gaming workforce that can be attending the Global Gaming Expo, October 6-9, on the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas.
