Another member of the troupe, Izze McTigue, a second-year animation main, mentioned she is aware of it’s daunting to place your self on the market.

“Everyone’s terrified to do it, because they’re like, ‘I don’t want to, what if I’m not funny?’” McTigue mentioned. “So just try. I think it’s scary, but once you understand that the worst thing that could happen is you just bomb a little bit, you’re okay.”  

But the Funny People Society positions itself as a membership welcome to anybody and a fantastic place to simply meet new individuals.

“I really struggled with friends my first semester, so it was great to be able to have a built-in, ‘Oh, let’s go to Denny’s after the show, let’s do this,” McTigue mentioned. “It’s very nice to have that structure.”
