Mountaineers Set to Host Firetower Project Run

BOONE, N.C. – The App State males’s and ladies’s cross nation groups are set to host the Firetower Project Run on Friday on the Don Kennedy Trails at State Farm in Boone. The males’s 8K is scheduled for five p.m. with the ladies’s 6K to comply with at 5:40 p.m. 
 

Joining the Mountaineers in Friday’s competitors will probably be The Citadel, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Erskine, Firetower Project, Gardner-Webb, James Madison, Lees-McRae, Lenoir-Rhyne, Milligan, Radford, SCAD Savannah, and William & Mary. 

During Friday’s 3 p.m. subject hockey match and 5 p.m. cross nation meet there will probably be a selfie scavenger hunt for followers to take part in. There will probably be a possibility for 4 individuals to win App State Field Hockey or App State Cross Country gear.

 

Last Time Out 

For a second consecutive meet throughout the 2025 season, sophomore Thomas Wlazlowski set tempo for the Mountaineer males on the Virginia Invitational (Sept. 12). Wlazlowski clocked an 8K time of 24:58.1 to put tenth total. He got here inside 13 seconds of his private better of 24:45.6, which he set final fall. The Waxhaw, N.C. native earned his first profession Sun Belt Runner of the Week nod for his efficiency. Following Wlazlowski on the Virginia Invitational was senior Ethan Lipham, who positioned eleventh with a time of 24:59.4. Rounding out the highest 25 was redshirt senior Chase Burrell (25:10.8, nineteenth) and freshman Tate Shore (25:12.7, PR, twenty first). The males positioned third within the crew standings with 88 factors. 

 

In the ladies’s 5K race, freshman Elizabeth McCart led the Mountaineers with a private finest time of 18:06.1. McCart improved upon her earlier private finest by 36 seconds and positioned twenty first total. Sophomore Breanna Budzinski and freshman Josie Jackson rounded out the highest 35 with occasions of 18:09.3 and 18:20.6, respectively. In the crew standings, the Mountaineer girls positioned sixth with 141 factors.

The Mountaineers will head to Princeton, NJ for the Princeton Fall Classic on Oct. 17 to shut the common season. The girls’s 5K is about for 10:30 a.m. with the lads’s 8K to comply with at 11:15 a.m.
