STORRS, Conn. – UConn volleyball is seeking to bounce again this weekend after dropping its first two BIG EAST matches on the highway in opposition to DePaul and Marquette. The Huskies will welcome Seton Hall and St. John’s to the UConn Volleyball Center. UConn will face the Pirates on Friday at 5:00 pm and tackle the Red Storm on Saturday at 4:00 pm.

Scouting the Huskies (11-3, 0-2 BIG EAST)

Emma Werkmeister (Victor, N.Y.) started convention play strongly final weekend, with 20 kills in opposition to DePaul and 12 kills in opposition to Marquette. Werkmeister leads the Huskies with 3.67 kills per set. Doga Kutlu (Ankara, Turkey) directs the UConn offense, averaging 8.73 assists per set and rating fifth within the convention. Audrey Rome (Sandwich, Ill.) has been a key contributor for the Huskies. Rome has tallied 110 kills this season (2.12 per set) and leads UConn’s protection with 43 complete blocks. Her .386 hitting proportion ranks third within the BIG EAST. Grace Maria (Arlington, Va.) heads into the weekend with 117 kills, surpassing her earlier season complete of 110. 

UConn ranks second within the convention in workforce hitting proportion (.266) and second in service aces (2.15 per set). The Huskies goal to proceed their success on the UConn Volleyball Center, the place they’ve gained 21 of their final 22 matches.

Opposition Research:

UConn welcomes Seton Hall to Storrs on Friday afternoon. The Huskies and Pirates break up their conferences final season. The Huskies will host St. John’s on Saturday afternoon to conclude the weekend. St. John’s (4-11, 0-2 BIG EAST) can be in search of its first convention victory after losses to Villanova and Georgetown. The Red Storm will play Providence on Friday evening earlier than heading to Storrs. 

UConn and St. John’s confronted off thrice final season. The Huskies gained the primary two video games, whereas St. John’s beat UConn within the NIVC Great 8.
