Mustang swimming & diving drops opening twin of 2025 season to Western Colorado

GUNNISON, Colo. – The Southwest Minnesota State University girls’s swimming and diving crew fell 165 to 113 to Western Colorado on Saturday afternoon.
 
This was the primary twin for each groups for the 2025 season. The twin featured 16 swimming occasions together with 1-meter diving.
 
In the 200-yard medley relay, a crew consisting of Carla Nevi, Madelynne Storm, Maggie Johnson, and Lexi Weems completed first with a time of 1:47.30. That time broke the earlier Western Colorado pool report of 1:50.19 set by Colorado Mesa.
 
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, a crew of Grace Aesoph, Elyanna Dogotch, Maggie Johnson, and Lexi Weems completed first with a time of 1:39.77, which breaks the earlier Western Colorado pool report of 1:40.97 in that occasion.
 
In 1-meter diving, Emma Knoll completed second with a rating of 160.55, and Maddie Olafson completed third.
 
Carla Nevi had a solo first place end within the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.37, and had a pair of second place finishes within the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard IM.

Her 100-yard freestyle time adjusted for altitude is 52.61, which is a brand new private report for Weems, is the second quickest 100-yard freestyle time in class historical past.
 
Grace Aespoh had two second place finishes, within the 50-yard freestyle, and tied with Madelynne Storm for second within the 100-yard butterfly.
 
Savannah Orzech completed third within the 200-yard freestyle with a time of two:05.13.
 
Maggie Johnson had two third place finishes within the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle.

The Mustangs will probably be again in Marshall for the Alumni Meet exhibition on Saturday, Oct. 11, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on the Don Palm Natatorium.
