CU Swimming Has Sturdy Displaying in Season Debut at Virginia Wesleyan

NORFOLK, V.A. – The Chowan University males’s and ladies’s swim groups debuted their 2025-2026 season at Virginia Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks took high spots in 15 of the 28 mixed occasions with each returners and newcomers having sturdy performances.

The Hawks ladies’s squad opened the 2025 season competing within the 200 yard medley, the place they touched the wall at 2:01.57 for second place end. Newcomers Christopher Goode positioned sixth with a time of 24.91 and Nasir Fernandez touched the wall at 39.52 to complete ninth. 

Romic continued her sturdy outing with a high end within the 100 yard freestyle. She completed with a time of 57.82 whereas teammate Waltz completed sixth with a time of 1:18.94. Mitchell and Goode positioned 2nd (55.33) and fifth (1:00.99) within the 100 yard freestyle. 

Idrissi and Reedy swam within the 200 yard backstroke, getting third place and 2nd place finishes. Vizcaya took second place within the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of three:00.38.
