New possession for St Helier swimming pool in 2026

A swimming pool in Jersey will change possession subsequent 12 months to assist “deliver better value for taxpayers”.

The Government of Jersey might be including the AquaSplash facility, in St Helier, to Active, a community of swimming swimming pools it runs throughout the island.

It is hoped the transfer will give the authority higher management in coping with rising prices throughout the island and allow it to streamline providers.

Current house owners Serco Jersey Limited mentioned it was “disappointed” to be leaving the waterpark and leisure facility after 25 years however that it was “proud of its achievements” throughout that point.

“I am pleased to welcome AquaSplash into the family of our Government of Jersey Sport facilities from next October,” mentioned constable Andy Jehan, minister for infrastructure.

“This change will deliver better value for taxpayers and ensure that AquaSplash can continue to operate as normal and serve the public.

“We know this information could also be worrying for AquaSplash workers and we wish to reassure them that we’re dedicated to supporting them the place we will.”

He added staff would be considered for opportunities to work with the new Government of Jersey team.
