Addison Named MVC Freshman Swimmer of the Week

LITTLE ROCK, AR. –  After a standout weekend in her collegiate debut season, freshman Amara Addison has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman Swimmer of the Week following her efficiency on the 2025 Little Rock Fall Invite.

Addison claimed victories in each the 50-yard backstroke and the 100-yard backstroke, setting new college information in every occasion. She clocked a 25.29 within the 50 again and a 55.14 within the 100 again, breaking each earlier program marks. I’ve come here from England not having swum in yards before and it’s been such a fun and new experience for me. Being able to start fresh with no times to compare myself to has been so freeing. I’ve just been able to go out there and try my hardest and see what I can do. I think this has helped me a lot and has contributed hugely to my current successes within my 50 and 100 backstroke.”

“Amara is one of our amazing eight first-years we’ve brought in this season,” mentioned head coach Nathan Townsend. “She’s incredibly talented and incredibly humble. Her presence at practice is felt through her laughter, her smile, and the genuine joy she brings to the sport of swimming.
