Women’s Golf Central: Stanford Invitational

PALO ALTO, Calif. – The No. 23 Tennessee ladies’s golf crew heads to the West Coast to spherical out its fall event slate on the Stanford Intercollegiate, set for Oct. 17–19.

The event, now in its sixtieth version, consists of three rounds—18 holes on Friday, adopted by 18 holes every on Saturday and Sunday.

The occasion is held at Stanford Golf Course which performs at 6,269 yards and is a par 71.

The inaugural Stanford Intercollegiate was held in 1964. It has been performed each fall since 1995, following renovations to the Stanford Golf Course. The historic event includes a stacked discipline of top-ranked groups. Eight of the previous 9 winners of the Stanford Intercollegiate have superior to match play on the NCAA Championship.

Last outing, the Lady Vols captured their first event title since 2019, which was the first below head coach Diana Cantú on the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship, successful by a cushty nine-stroke margin over second place. UT completed with a 13-under whole rating, because of a tournament-best ultimate spherical of 11-under. Three of the 5 Lady Vols completed within the high 10.

LADY VOLS’ LINEUP

Madison Messimer

The true freshman has completed within the high 10 in back-to-back tournaments. Messimer opened the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship with a career-low 68 within the first spherical, en path to a 2-under total end. Through her first eight rounds as a Lady Vol, she has shot par or higher in 5.

Manassanan Chotikabhukkana

The Bangkok, Thailand, native shot par or higher in all three rounds on the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship, ending tied for third with a 4-under total rating. Through two event appearances, she is averaging 70.5 strokes per spherical.

Sophie Engeseth

The true freshman is making her fourth consecutive begin. Thapasit recorded a top-five end to open her collegiate profession on the Cougar Classic.

Thitikarn Thapasit

The freshman registered a top-10 end on the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate behind a final-round rally with a 66. 

Lauren Nguyen

After 4 years at Texas A&M and an look within the U.S. Women’s Open this previous summer time, the redshirt senior made her Lady Vol debut as a person final outing. Nguyen secured a top-10 end with three rounds of par or higher.
