BIG EAST Results

ASHLAND, Neb.—UConn girls’s cross nation completed fourth on the 2025 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships on Friday at Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Nebraska. The Huskies completed with 104 factors, behind Georgetown, Villanova, and Providence.

Freshman Sascha Letica led the best way for UConn, incomes second group All-BIG EAST Honors with a 13th place end, crossing the end line at 20:25.9. Senior Captain Chloe Trudel joined Letica on the second group, taking 16th place with a time of 20:39.5. Freshman Brooke Strauss rounded out the trio of Huskies on the second group with a 19th place end with a time of 20:58.2.

Junior Malin Rahm secured the fourth spot for UConn with a 25th place end at 21:13.5. Graduate scholar Sarah Trainor completed 33rd with a time of 21:23.8, with sophomore Claire Paci ending proper behind in 34th at 21:24.8.

Senior Loghan Hughes completed 41th at 21:32.1. Senior Calista Mayer crossed the road at 21:52.9, ending 51st. Senior Ally McCarthy took 63rd with a time of twenty-two:21.9 and freshman Teanne Ewings completed 68th at 22:35.7.

“Thank you to the Creighton staff and head coach Chris Gannon for building an amazing cross country venue and a great environment for a championship race. A huge shout out to Sascha Letica, a great run from the start for her. She’s settled into a great training routine and has made amazing progress throughout the season. She has a bright future ahead of her. Our senior captain, Chloe Trudel continues to have a breakout senior season. She had a tremendous run today, closing the second half strongly. Brooke Strauss continues to run strong for us in her freshman season as well.  A tough competition across the board with storied programs. We continued to fight and we are proud to be part of this conference. We’re looking forward to competing in two weeks at regionals.”

Georgetown received its sixth consecutive BIG EAST title, led by particular person champion Melissa Riggins, who crossed the road at 19:47.64.

The Huskies will compete on the NCAA Northeast Regional in two weeks, touring to New Hampshire on Friday, November 14th.
