Halloween Night Apartment Fire – West First Avenue, Parkesburg Borough
On October 31, 2025, at 2009 hours, the Keystone Valley Fire Department (KVFD) was dispatched to the 400 block of West First Avenue for a reported house fireplace.
Parkesburg Police arrived on scene at 2012 hours and confirmed an energetic fireplace on the second flooring, Charlie Side, of the construction. Officers made entry, deployed a hearth extinguisher, and efficiently knocked down the primary physique of fireplace whereas encountering a heavy smoke situation.
Ladder 8 arrived first due at 2013 hours with smoke exhibiting from a second-floor house and requested a working fireplace dispatch, bringing extra sources.
Ladder 8’s crew superior an assault line to the rear of the constructing and confirmed that the fireplace had been extinguished upon entry with in depth smoke. Engine 8 arrived shortly thereafter and assumed the second-due engine task.
Chief 52 (Lanco) arrived and established First Avenue Command. The fireplace was rapidly contained, and the incident was mitigated with out additional extension.
Several mutual-aid firms assisted on scene. The Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office responded and is investigating the reason for the fireplace.
Due to Trick-or-Treat actions concluding on the time of dispatch, a fast response was famous from each Parkesburg Police and KVFD personnel, contributing to the swift containment of the incident.
