Athenas Swim and Dive Sweeps SCIAC Weekly Awards

CLAREMONT, Calif. – Avalon Sanders earned the SCIAC Swimmer of the Week and Simone Sabeeh took the SCIAC Diver of the Week honor because the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps ladies’s swimming and diving workforce swept the 2 weekly awards, the convention workplace introduced as we speak. 

Sanders earned a first-place end and a second-place end as CMS break up a double-dual with a pair of DII packages, defeating Azusa Pacific and falling to Biola. She earned first place within the 500 free in 5:08.00, a victory margin of 4.24 seconds, after which got here in second within the 200-yard freestyle in 1:54.74, because the Athenas completed with a 140-99 victory margin over Azusa Pacific in a preview of future SCIAC battles. 

 

Sabeeh swept each boards in her collegiate debut to assist CMS to the break up. Sabeeh earned a 250.05 on the three-meter to win by 30 factors over Brooklyn Melvin of APU, after which tallied a 246.60 on the one-meter, with teammate Josephine Kearns in second 20 factors behind with a 226.10. 

CMS has now had three honorees after its two meets this season, after Sun Young Byun captured the Swimmer of the Week honor after opening weekend at UC San Diego two weeks in the past. 

CMS can be again in motion on Saturday when it travels to Chapman for a SCIAC double-dual with Whittier.
