BBC Film celebrates 39 nominations throughout 10 movies for the British Independent Film Awards 2025

Ten movies backed by BBC Film have acquired a complete of 39 nominations for this yr’s British Independent Film Awards, with winners to be introduced on the awards ceremony on Sunday 30 November.

Akinola Davies Jr.’s My Father’s Shadow lead the nominations with 12 nods, adopted by Harry Lighton’s Pillion with 10 nominations. Harris Dickinson’s Urchin, which was launched in cinemas throughout the UK and Ireland on 3 October, acquired 6 nominations. All three originated and had been developed with BBC Film.

Laura Carreira’s On Falling acquired 4 nominations, with Laura receiving nominations for all 4 writing and directing classes. Short movie Stomach Bug directed by Matty Crawford provides a BIFA nomination to its BAFTA nomination from earlier this yr. The movie was made by BBC Film’s ‘Bridge to Industry’ brief movie initiative with the NFTS, which is at the moment in its ninth yr.
