HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The UCF men’s soccer team saw its seven-match unbeaten streak come to an end in its regular-season finale Tuesday evening, falling to the No. 17 Marshall Thundering Herd, 2-0.

The loss, the team’s first since it fell to then-No. 10 West Virginia, 1-0, Sept. 28, saw UCF muster just eight shot attempts, three of which were on target, courtesy of Lilian Ricol, Mateus Dejesus and Claudel N’goubou.

The Thundering Herd jumped out to an early 2-0 advantage with goals in the 12th and 16th minutes, but a strong second half by senior goalkeeper Juanvi Muñoz and the team’s defensive efforts in front of him held Marshall scoreless the remainder of the match.

Muñoz completed the evening with six saves on eight total Marshall shots on goal, a new single-game season high and his most stops in a match since he stopped seven opposing attempts at Old Dominion Oct. 14, 2023.

With the regular season now complete, UCF has clinched the No. 5 seed in the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Men’s Soccer Championship, and will open postseason play Sunday, Nov. 9 against fourth-seeded Georgia Southern in Lexington, Kentucky.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from the Bell Soccer Complex and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
